Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard, Duchess of Gloucester Territory

Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard is the youngest child and daughter of Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard-Carey nee Lowell and Lord Andrew Charles Howard, Duke of Norfolk Territory.

Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard was named from the tragic and beautiful wife of King George I of England who was the son of Princess  Sophia of the Palatinate who was the daughter of Princess Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of King James VI of Scotland and I of England.

Princess Sophia Dorothea of Celle was a beautiful young daughter of George William, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and his wife, Éléonore Desmier d'Olbreuse.

Princess Sophia Dorothea of Celle was born on 15 September 1666 and she was married to her first cousin, George of Hanover on  21 November 1682 and they had two children: Prince George (Later King George II) born on 30 October 1683 and Princess Sophia Charlotte on 16 March 1687 and both of her children never saw her again.

Princess Sophia Dorothea of Celle was never crowned Queen of England just like Queen Henrietta Maria of France, the wife of King Charles I of England.

Princess Sophia Dorothea fell in love with a young Swedish  count named Philip Christoph von Königsmarck and it is said that King George had him murdered in Hanover and Princess Sophia Dorothea died in Ahlden House on November 13, 1726 at the age of 60 years old. 

Prince George Augustus and Princess Sophia Dorothea never saw their mother again  and they grew up despising their father for imprisoning their mother.

Lady Karissa loved Princess Sophia Dorothea of Celle and decided to name her final child if a daughter, Lady Sophia Dorothea and if it was a third son, Lord Christopher Anthony Howard, either way the fifth child would receive the title of Duke or Duchess of Gloucester Territory.

Lord Andrew Charles was nearly 50 years old when their final child would be born and Lady Karissa would be 45 years old shortly thereafter their final child would be born, but she had promised Lord Andrew Charles five children.

Lady Karissa became pregnant for the final time in July of 2294 and Lady Elizabeth became pregnant for the first time in July of 2294, after her marriage to her second cousin, Lord Richard Edward Howard III.

Lord Richard Edward Howard III thought that Lady Elizabeth would be better off at Beltane Manor during her pregnancy where there first cousin twice removed, Lord David William Beck could attend Lady Elizabeth as he had been the Howard and Carey personal physician since Lady Elizabeth’s birth in 2275.

Lord Andrew Charles asked his first cousin once removed, Lord David William Beck and his wife, Lady Katherine Beck with their daughter, Lady Davina Edwina Beck to move temporarily to Beltane Manor.

Lord David’ son, Lord David William Beck II had married Lady Samhain Wilhelmina Charlene Howard in 2294 and they lived out in Clarence Territory and they also had a country manor in Essex Territory.

Lord David, Lady Katherine and Lady Davina move into Beltane Manor in summer of 2294 and Lord David oversees both Lady Elizabeth’s and Lady Karissa’s pregnancy.

Lord Andrew Charles looks at his cousin, Lord David William Beck and Lord David William tells him” Lady Karissa has gone through this many times before, but it will be Lady Elizabeth’s first time.” 

“Listen here, cousin Lord David. You know how my father feels about Lady Elizabeth. She is the heiress of Norfolk Territory.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“My father had to wait half his life-time for Lady Elizabeth as you know my two brothers failed to produce a child until Lord Patrick and Lady Pauline produced Lady Autumn Bridget in 2282.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“I know that I have a heiress presumption in Lady Samhain, but it would kill my father, Lord Charles Andrew JR if anything happened to his first born grandchild.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“Lady Elizabeth is strong as an ox, Lord Andrew Charles. She is young, 19 years old and I don’t see any problems with her pregnancy.” Lord David explains.

“Lady Karissa on the other hand is nearly 45 years old, and she has given birth to four of your other children as well as two of Lord Richard William Carey’s children.” Lord David William tells him.

Both Lady Karissa and Lady Elizabeth spend time together along with Lady Caroline Matilda, Lord Benjamin Lawrence, Lord Albert Edward along with Lord Andrew Charles’ daughter, Lady Anastasia Christina Howard, Duchess of Northampton Territory.

Lady Karissa sees Lady Anastasia Christina as one of her daughters as well and as she is the sister to Lady Elizabeth, Lady Samhain, Lord Anthony, Lord Albert Edward and the new child that Lord Andrew Charles and she are having.

Lady Anastasia Christina is step-sister to Lady Caroline Matilda and Lord Benjamin, but Lord Albert Edward and Lady Anastasia Christine are particularly close as they were born only 9 months apart.

Lord Richard Edward Howard III is very anxious about Lady Elizabeth’s first pregnancy and he tells Lord Andrew Charles and his father, Lord Richard Edward II “ I don’t want anything to happen to Lady Bess. I couldn’t live without her.” 

“Don’t worry Lord Richard Edward III. Lady Elizabeth is young, and strong. If anything happened to her it wouldn’t only kill you but it would kill my father.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“My father wouldn’t continue to live if he knew that his first born grandchild predeceased him. He would follow her.” Lord Andrew Charles states.

“My father was born in 2205 and he is now 84 years old and I want him to live until he sees and holds his first great-grandchild in his arms. If he dies after that at least he will have died happy.” Lord Andrew Charles tells him “ I love my father and I will hate to lose him.” 

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR was the eldest son of Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR and his two younger brothers predeceased him and never got to see their grandchildren or great-grandchildren.

Lord Richard Edward Howard SR died in 2270 at the age of 60 years old and Lord Edwin William Howard born in 2220 died in 2275 at the age of 55 years old, and their only sister, Lady Sophia Charlotte was born in 2215 passed away in 2280 at the age of 75 years old.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR is 84 years old in 2294 and he has the will to stay alive until the birth of his first great-grandchild who is the child of his favorite grandchild, Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard, but he loves all his grandchildren including his great-great-nephew, Lord Richard William Carey and his great-great-great-niece, Lad Caroline Matilda and great-great-great-nephew, Lord Benjamin Lawrence along with Lord Richard Edward Howard II and Lord Richard Edward III, Lord David William Beck his great-nephew and his son, Lord David William Beck III and his great-niece, Lady Davina Edwina Beck and his first cousin, Lord Frederick William Howard, his first cousin once removed, Lord Frederick William IV and Lord Thomas William Howard, who is the great-great-grandson of his uncle, Lord Andrew Charles Howard.

Lord David assures Lord Richard Edward III that Lady Elizabeth will be fine.

Lady Elizabeth is grouchy during her pregnancy and the only company she wants is the company of her mother, Lady Karissa.

Lady Elizabeth distances herself from Lord Richard Edward III and it upsets Lord Richard Edward III who has adored Lady Elizabeth since they were children.

Lady Karissa tells Lord Richard Edward III “ Don’t worry about Lady Elizabeth. She is just having a hard time and she is worried about her grandfather.” 

“Lady Elizabeth was born to succeed her father and grandfather and she knows her duty to the Howard family as the eldest grandchild of Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR.” Lady Karissa tells Lord Richard Edward III “ She knows it her duty to provide Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR with his first great-great-grandchild as you know it yourself as you are his great-grandchild too.” 

“Duty comes first before anything with Howard’.” Lady Karissa tells him.

“Lady Elizabeth and you are ensuring that Lord Patrick William Howard’s family survives.” Lady Karissa tells him.

“You have to remember what your paternal great-great-grandfather went through in 2153.” Lady Karissa states “He had to give up everything in order for him to survive World War III.” 

“Lord Patrick William gathered up some of the most noble families that lived in England and he asked them to board the USS Excalibur with him.” Lady Karissa explains.

“You see their descendants here today.” Lady Karissa states.

“You have the Beaufort's, Carey’s, Devereux, Grey’s, Beck’s, Collin’s, Percy’s, Valois, Bourbon, Habsburgs, Churchill's, and Stuarts.” Lady Karissa states.

“I understand later that the Courtney’s, Stafford's, and Stanhopes came later on in 2170.’ Lady Karissa explains.

Lady Elizabeth walks out and she looks at her mother and husband and asks, “What is going on?”

“Lady Elizabeth. Lord Richard Edward III is feeling alienated from you.” Lady Karissa explains.

“Mother. I am having our child. I love Lord Richard Edward III and he knows it and maybe he would like to have our next child.” Lady Elizabeth tells her mother.

“Lady Bess. You know that is impossible.” Lady Karissa explains, “ I never complained about having any of my children.” 

“I may have complained about your father being a poor lover and he was at that and Lord Richard William Carey is a better one.” Lady Karissa states.

“I once asked you for a new father, mother. You said I had to accept the one that I had and I couldn’t have a replacement.” Lady Elizabeth tells her mother.

“I am afraid fathers are not replaceable. You have the one Odin and Frigga has given you. “ Lady Karissa states.

“Your father may not be perfect, but then again none of us are Lady Bess. We just do our best to raise our children.” Lady Karissa states.

“Lady Bess. Once you hold this child in your arms. You will feel differently.” Lady Karissa tells her eldest daughter.

“Lord Charles Andrew JR is counting on Lord Richard Edward III and you to continue the Howard name into the future as well as Lord Anthony Christopher and Lord Albert Edward.” Lady Karissa explains.

“You know that your grandfather won’t live forever, Lady Elizabeth. He is hanging on to see and hold his first great-grandchild.” Lady Karissa states.

“I don’t want my grandpa to die.” Lady Elizabeth tells her mother. “ I love my grandpa.” 

“I love my aunt, Lady Frederica.” Lady Elizabeth tells her mother.

Mabon comes and goes, and everyone celebrates Lady Samhain ‘s 18 birthday and everyone celebrates the 12 days of Yuletide together and they celebrate Lord Andrew Charles and Lady Karissa’s 20 wedding anniversary together, as well Lord Albert Edward 10th birthday.

Finally Lady Elizabeth and Lady Karissa enter the final trimester of their pregnancy together on May 1, 2295, and they celebrate Lady Elizabeth ‘s 20th birthday together.

Lord Richard Edward III gives Lady Bess a birthday present of a tiara that his father was given. It is the tiara of Wessex Territory.

Lady Karissa feels her first labor pains and  Lord David Beck looks at her “ You are in labor.” 

“Looks like Lady Elizabeth’s birthday present from her father and me will be her new sister or brother.” Lady Karissa tells him.

Lady Karissa is safely delivered by Lord Andrew Charles and her last child, a beautiful daughter named Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard and she is created the Duchess of Gloucester Territory.

Lady Elizabeth walks in with Lord Richard Edward III and her father, Lord Andrew Charles Howard and she smiles, “ I see you have my birthday present.” 

“You might think that, Lady Elizabeth.” Lady Karissa tells her as she holds Lady Sophia Dorothea.

All of sudden Lady Elizabeth gives Lady Sophia Dorothea back to her mother and Lady Karissa calls Lord David William to Lady Elizabeth.

Lord Charles Andrew JR with Lord Richard Edward II, Lord Richard Edward III and Lord Andrew Charles all pace back and forth and they wait for the news of the birth of Lord Charles Andrew Howard SR first great-great-grandchild, Lord Frederick William Howard first great-great-great-grandchild and Lord Patrick William Howard’s first great-great-great-great-grandchild.

Finally at 8 PM, the cries of a newborn baby can be heard at Beltane Manor and Lord David calls out “It’s a girl and a beauty. Lady Elizabeth has named their daughter, Lady Karissa Ann Howard, after her mother.” 

Lord David William bathes and dresses Lady Karissa Ann Howard in her baby layette and he carries her out to meet her great-grandfather, Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR, her two grandfather’s Lord Andrew Charles and Lord Richard Edward II and to meet her father, Lord Richard Edward III.

“I, present to you, The Right and Honorable, Lady Karissa Ann Howard, heiress apparent to the Dukedoms of Norfolk and Wessex Territory.” Lord David William tells Lord Charles Andrew JR.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR holds out his arms to hold his first born great-grandchild in his arms and tears start streaming down his eyes, but they are tears of joy.

Lord Charles Andrew JR kisses his first-born great-grandchild in his arms and he calls out to his late brother, Lord Richard Edward Howard SR “ Look bro. Our first great-grandchild together. I sure wish you were here to see your great-granddaughter.” 

Lady Karissa with the help of Lord David Beck helps Lady Elizabeth to get dressed and she has Lord David William Beck to help her dress and they walk out together and Lady Elizabeth walks up to her grandfather and Lord Charles Andrew JR takes Lady Elizabeth and his grandnephew into his arms and he holds his first grandchild in his arms and he says “ You two have made sure that The Howard name will continue with this child.” 

Lady Sophia Dorothea and Lady Karissa Ann are aunt and niece and they grow up together and they grow close to each other.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard Jr finally passes away in 2299, at the age of 89 years old but he lives to see his first great-grandchild be born.

Lord Andrew Charles with his two brother’s lay their father next to his father, mother, two brothers and sister out in the Howard Mausoleum at Norfolk Estate.

The memorial plaque reads “Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR, Born on January 6, 2005 - August 5, 2299. Duke of Norfolk Territory from 2250 until 2275 and Duke of York Territory from 2275-2299.”

Lord Charles Andrew Howard is succeeded by his daughter, Lady Frederica Wilhelmina Howard as Duchess of York Territory at the age of 24 years old.

It is Lady Elizabeth who feels the loss of her grandfather the most and she can’t believe that he is gone.

Lord Andrew Charles tells his oldest child, Lady Elizabeth, “ Dad was 89 years old. He lived to see his first great-grandchild and after that he was content to leave.” 

Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard, Duchess of Gloucester grows up but she is the only child that doesn’t get to know her paternal grandfather.

Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard in 2315, goes to marry Lord William Frederick Howard, her third cousin, in a double wedding ceremony with her niece, Lady Karissa Ann Howard who marries Lord William Frederick Howard’s older brother, Lord Frederick William Howard IV.

Both Lord Frederick William Howard and Lord William Frederick Howard are the sons of Lord Frederick William Howard III and Lady Mary Henrietta Grey.

They have a sister, Lady Henrietta Georgiana Howard named after her maternal grandfather and grandmother. 

Lord Frederick William Howard was born in 2292 and Lord William Frederick William was born in 2294 and their sister was born in 2296.

Lord Frederick William Howard IV is three years older than Lady Karissa Ann Howard and Lord William Frederick Howard is one years older than Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard and they are the great-grandsons of Lord Frederick William Howard SR through his oldest son, Lord Frederick William Howard II and his wife, Lady Joan Bourbon.

Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard, Duchess of Gloucester is succeeded by her daughter, Lady Charlotte Dorothea Howard who is born in 2325 and in 2330, shortly before her mother dies, gives birth to a son, Lord William Frederick Howard II.

Lady Sophia Dorothea Howard, Duchess of Gloucester Territory died in the year of 2380 at the age of 85 years old.
