The Birth of The Heiress

Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard goes into labor in the morning of May 1, 2275 on Beltane Day.

Beltane Day is one of the most significant of Pagan Sabbats next to Samhain which is the Pagan New Year.

When Lord Andrew Charles doesn't find her by his side he rises and looks at her and asks, "What is wrong Karissa?"

"Nothing. Andrew Charles. I am just in labor." Karissa answers.

Lord Andrew Charles reaches for his communicator and contacts his first cousin, Lord David William Beck who is quick to answer his communicator.

"How long are her labor pains?" Lord David William asks.

"Lord David wants to know how far apart are your labor pains?" Lord Andrew Charles calls out.

"They come and go. I am not in any discomfort." Karissa answers.

"Lady Karissa said they come and go." Lord Andrew Charles tells him.

"Has her water broken?" Lord David asks.

"Has your water broken?" Lord Andrew Charles asks.

"No. It hasn't. My labor pains are every 30 minutes.' Karissa tells him.

"Lord David is on his way." Lord Andrew Charles tells her.

Lord Andrew Charles contacts his father and his father rises and he calls Lord Frederick William, Lord Richard William Carey, Lord Thomas William Howard and his sons, Lord Charles Andrew III and Lord Patrick William and he tells them ' My heiress on her way. When she arrives. You must guard her with your dear life. I have waited for most of my life for her to arrive."

"Don't worry Cousin, Lord Charles Andrew. We will protect our cousin with our dear lives." Lord Thomas tells his cousin.

"I am sorry cousin that it took you so long to get your first grandchild, but she is on her way." Lord Richard William tells him.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR looks at his two sons with disgust "I had three sons and two let me down." Lord Charles Andrew JR tells them.

Lord Charles Andrew JR lives out at Norfolk Estate with his wife, Lady Patricia and Lord Charles Andrew JR tells her " We have to travel out to Beltane Manor. Our first grandchild is on her way."

"I am going to give her the Stuart Tiara to wear on her sixteenth birthday. It was given to me by my maternal great-grandmother, Lady Isabella Valois." Lady Patricia tells him.

Lady Patricia walks over to her vault and she takes out the Stuart tiara and she says, "I was the last one to wear it and now my granddaughter will wear it too."

Lord Charles Andrew JR and Lady Patricia with their sons and cousins climb into the Howard carriage and starts it way to Beltane Manor and as the carriage passes by the streets of Norfolk the people start to gather and Lord Charles Andrew JR and Lady Patricia stand and Lord Charles Andrew announces to his people " Your heiress is on her way. She is the first great-great-great-great-grandchild of Lord Patrick William Howard."

The people start to cheer as they loved Lord Frederick William, but they didn't really care for Lord Charles Andrew SR, but Lord Charles Andrew JR is given the name of Charles The Beloved Duke of Norfolk Territory.

The carriage travels onto Beltane Manor and Lady Patricia tells her husband " Settle down Lord Charles Andrew."

"Listen, Lady Patricia. I have waited half of my lifetime for this child to be born. She has come to preserve what my great-great-grandfather started back in 2160." Lord Charles Andrew JR states.

.Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard is the first great-great-great-great-grandchild of Lord Patrick William Howard through the male line.

The carriage finally arrives and Lord Charles Andrew JR helps Lady Patricia out of the carriage and the rest follow and he knocks on the door and Lady Karissa answers the door " I have come for my heiress." Lord Charles Andrew JR tells her.

Lady Karissa looks at her father-in-law, "I am sorry but the baby hasn't arrived yet." Lady Karissa states, "Furthermore, she may be your heiress but she is my daughter."

"Lady Elizabeth will not be a part of your marriage game." Lady Karissa states, " She will marry for love."

"Lady Elizabeth will fulfill her destiny when the time comes. Don't rob her of her childhood." Lady Karissa tells him.

"Children need to be allowed to experience the good things in life before they grow up." Lady Karissa tells her.

Lord Andrew Charles walks to the door " I see you have arrived with the clan." Lord Andrew Charles tells his father.

"Listen dad. Lady Karissa wants to raise our children her way and I have agreed to it. Our children will not take part in these archaic marriage practices." Lord Andrew Charles tells his father.

"All children must be able to experience their childhood." Lord Andrew Charles tells him.

"Do you know what it took me to win Karissa .I am not going to lose her." Lord Andrew Charles tells his father.

"We plan to have more children later on." Lord Andrew Charles tells his father "Furthermore, I had to wait 12 years for her to arrive."

"12 year of torment and searching." Lord Andrew Charles explains.

Lord David William Beck arrives with his wife, Lady Katherine and Lord David Beck looks at his first cousin once removed, Lord Andrew Charles " I am here Lord Andrew Charles. I see Lady Karissa is with you." Lord David tells his cousin.

''How are you feeling Karissa?" Lord David asks.

"I am fine, David." Karissa answers, "It's your great-Uncle that is having a fit."

"Listen Uncle Lord Charles Andrew JR. Karissa is in good hands and I won't let anything happen to Lady Karissa or your grandchild as she is my second cousin and we share the same great-grandfather, Lord Charles Andrew SR." Lord David tells his Uncle.

Lady Patricia walks up to Lady Karissa and she gives her a velvet box " This is for my granddaughter. It is a part of her heritage through the Stuarts. It is the Stuart tiara that I wore on my 16th birthday and cotillion."

Lady Karissa smiles and tells her " Lady Elizabeth will wear it on her 16th birthday and at her cotillion."

"She is as much as Stuart as she is a Howard." Lady Karissa tells her.

"My great-great-great-grandfather had the tiara made up in Lennox Territory." Lady Patricia tells her.

Lady Karissa pulls Lord Andrew Charles aside, "I asked you to make sure that your brothers didn't come on my property." Lady Karissa asks.

"I think father forgot, but please let them stay so I can shove it into their faces that they let my dad down." Lord Andrew Charles asks.

Lady Karissa agrees and she ignores both Lord Charles Andrew III and Lord Patrick William.

Lord Charles Andrew JR with his son, Lord Andrew Charles paces back and forth together and Lady Karissa watches them" You would think it was them that was having the baby." Lady Karissa tells Lady Patricia.

"Lord Charles Andrew JR was the very same way during the time I was in labor with our children. I am only sorry that both of our older sons let their father down." Lady Patricia tells them.

"I don't know what the problem is with my other two sons. I never did like Lady Victoria Stanhope." Lady Patricia states.

"Lady Pauline Stafford is fine, and Lord Patrick William seems to love her." Lady Patricia tells her.

"They have been married for 18 years." Lady Patricia states, "They have a solid marriage but no children."

"They may still have a child." Lady Karissa explains, "I wouldn't give up hope."

The tension mounts as Lord Charles Andrew JR and Lord Andrew Charles waits for the birth of the Howard heiress.

Finally at 3 PM at Beltane Manor, the cries of a newborn child can be heard from the birth chamber at Beltane Manor and she comes out screaming out the top of her lungs and she is heard by both her grandfather and father and Lord Charles Andrew JR embraces his son, "She is here and what a pair of lungs she has on her."

Lord David William Beck bathes, dresses Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard is her baby layette and with the consent of her mother, Lady Karissa. He carries Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane out in his arms and he walks over to his great-Uncle, Lord Charles Andrew JR and her father, Lord Andrew Charles " May I present to you, Her Grace, The Right and Honorable, Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane Howard, future Duchess of Norfolk Territory and Future Marchioness of Pembroke Territory." Lord David tells them.

Lord Charles Andrew JR and Lady Patricia hold out their arms and Lord David places their first grandchild into the arms of her grandfather, Lord Charles Andrew JR and he looks at his first born grandchild, and he kisses her and says, "I have been waiting for you for half of my life to come."

Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane is wide awake and she looks at her grandfather " Take it easy old man. I am here and with me will come change to Star Base 12 and Norfolk Territory."

"Look at this grandchild of ours, she is wide awake and I think she knows who I am." Lord Charles Andrew JR tells his wife.

"I have never seen such a beautiful child with the exception of my own children." Lord Charles Andrew JR tells his wife.

Lord Andrew Charles walks over and he tells his father " Hey dad. She is my daughter. I want to hold her too." and Lord Charles Andrew JR places Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane into her father's arms.

"She is beautiful isn't she dad?" Lord Andrew Charles asks.

"Of course, she is a Howard and we have good genes but she has a lot of her mother in her too." Lord Charles Andrew JR tells his son.

Lord Andrew Charles walks over carrying his daughter and he tells his brothers "Look well at this child now. She is the future Duchess of Norfolk Territory. You will bow to her when you come into her presence." Lord Andrew Charles tells his two brothers.

From her bed, Lady Karissa looks on and with the help of Lord David Beck. She gets dressed and Lord David William Beck escorts her into the drawing room Lady Karissa looks at her two brothers-in-laws and she tells them "Look well at your niece."

"You don't have to bow or curtsy to me, but I will expect you to do it to your brother and niece." Lady Karissa states.

Lord Richard William Carey walks over with his cousins, Lord Richard Edward II, Lord Frederick William and Lord Thomas William Howard and they bow to Lady Karissa who is now holding Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane in her arms.

Lord Andrew Charles looks at his two brothers and tells them " Lady Karissa doesn't want you on her property and Beltane Manor is her property. If you want to see your niece. You must see her at Norfolk Estate."

"Lord Richard William Carey, Lord Thomas William Howard, Lord David William Beck and Lord Frederick William Howard III are welcome at Beltane Manor along with father and mother." Lord Andrew Charles informs his brothers and with that Lord Charles Andrew III and Lord Patrick William leave Beltane Manor and return to Norfolk Estate.

Lady Karissa tells them " Lady Elizabeth needs her beauty sleep and I am tired."

"Lord Andrew Charles and Lord Richard William Carey can remain, but I must ask the rest of you to depart. Lady Karissa asks.

Lord Frederick William, Lord Thomas William and Lord Charles Andrew JR with Lady Patricia and Lord Richard Edward Howard II withdraw from the birth rooming.

Lady Karissa places Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane back into her cradle next to her bed and Lady Karissa looks down at her daughter, Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane and she is named in the memory of the three greatest Queens of England, Queen Elizabeth I of England, the youngest daughter of King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn who was the great-great-granddaughter of Lord John Howard through his son, Lord Thomas Howard 2nd Duke of Norfolk and his daughter, Lady Elizabeth Howard who married Lord Thomas Boleyn who had Queen Anne Boleyn who married King Henry VIII and together Queen Gloriana, Good Queen Bess, Queen Victoria who was the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent the third son of King George III of England and Queen Ann, the youngest daughter of King James II of England and Queen Anne Hyde who was the second son of King Charles I of England and Queen Henrietta Maria of France and Beltane in honor of the most significant Pagan Sabbat and the noble surname of her father Howard.

Lord Charles Andrew JR looks up into the sky and he calls out to his late father " You have your great-grandchild, father. You can rest now in peace."

From Valhalla, there is a great reason to celebrate with the birth of Lord Patrick William Howard's first great-great-great-great-grandchild.

Lord Patrick embraces his son, and grandson and he says, "My Dukedom is preserved with the birth of my great-great-great-great-granddaughter."

They walk over and bow to Odin, and say " Thank you Odin, Almighty father for the gift of my first great-great-great-great-great-grandchild."

"You have been faithful to me, Lord Patrick William Howard. This is my way of saying thank you for never straying. " Odin, The Almighty Father tells him.
