He Dreams of Her

Lt Kevin Thomas Riley on his days off remembers back in 2273 when he first met Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard nee Lowell. It was on board the USS Republic when it orbited around Talos IV to beam up to return him to Star Base 12 where he headed for Star Fleet Academy to resume his studies.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Howard was born in 2248, in The Great Country of Southern Ireland that wasn't a part of England.

Southern Ireland decided not to become a part of England because they were Roman Catholic and didn't believe in the Church of England that King Henry VIII started to divorce his queen, Queen Katherine of Aragon and they have sworn allegiance to the Pope Clement the VII.

On the other hand, Northern Ireland was ruled by King Henry VIII and one his children and in fact it was Lord Walter Devereux that was sent to crush the rebellion in Ireland.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley fled to Talos IV to escape War Torn Planet Earth that broke out in Europe and devastated it.

On Talos IV, The Riley's a family of good people started to feel the famine that suddenly hit Talos IV and their govern, Kudos decided to play god and he decided who was going to receive the food and who was going to be executed and one of the families was The Riley's.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley heard the heart-breaking news that his father, mother, and sister had been brutally executed by Kudos.

Star Fleet Academy granted him indefinite leave from Star Fleet Academy so he could attend his family's funeral and settle his family affairs.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley was given transportation back to Talos IV in 2273 and he had to see to his father's, mother's and sister's funeral and burial and settle their finances.

Once he had seen the funeral service and burial on Talos IV. He started to settle his family affairs and his father had left him everything.

Mr. Thomas Riley had left his only surviving child, Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley 5000 credits, the Riley Coat of Arms and the family pictures.

"Two days before Mr. Thomas Riley with his wife, Bridget and his sister, Karen were executed. He sat down and wrote his son a letter and it read " My dear son, Kevin Thomas. They are coming for us in two days. This is why I am writing to you.

My dear son, Kevin. We have seen 5000 people murdered in execution style like the Nazi's did during World War II and What that Bolsheviks did during World War I, and we are next. " Thomas Riley tells his beloved son.

"There is nothing we can or say to Kudos to prevent and we are insignificant, my only regret is that he won't spare your mother and sister, for gladly I would sacrifice my life for them." Thomas Riley states.

"Please my son, bury all of us together and take care of our family affairs." Thomas Riley asks his son.

When Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley read the last letter his father wrote to him he broke down in tears and he cried as he was not only heart-broken but he was bitter toward Kudos for what he did to his father, mother, and sister.

When he arrived at Talos IV, the murderer Kudos fled with his daughter like the coward he was and he changed his name so he and his daughter wouldn't be recognized.

The United Federation of Planets had arrived on Talos IV and they counted that Kudos had murdered over 6000 people.

Finally, on an April day in 2274, The USS Republic orbited around Kudos IV and Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley was beamed aboard the USS Republic.

On board the USS Republic was 18 years old, Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell as well.

It was quite by chance on the second day headed back to Star Base 12 in the garden aboard the USS Republic that Kevin Riley met Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell in the garden.

Lt Kevin Riley notices her sitting in the garden and he walks to her, " I didn't mean to disturb you, but I come here to the garden as well."

"You are not disturbing me." Karissa answers, "I have come here every day since I boarded the USS Republic in 2270."

"You have been on board the USS Republic that long, and where are you headed?" Kevin asks.

"I am headed for Star Base 12." Karissa tells him.

"So I am." Kevin tells her. "I am a student at Star-Fleet Academy." Kevin explains.

"I will be a student in the autumn." Karissa explains.

During the time Karissa and Kevin were on the USS Republic. They became close friends and spent all their time together.

Karissa had a sympathetic ear and Kevin told her about what happened to his family on Talos IV and how Kudos had murdered his family.

"There have been monsters before - Genghis Khan, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Adolf Hitler." Karissa explains,

"Look what Hitler did to over 6 million people." Karissa states.

"Each of them fell and are awaiting judgement from their deity as will Kudos with his daughter when he is apprehended." Karissa explains.

The Book of Act states that No One has been judged because King David is still in his grave." (Acts 2:34) Karissa states.

"Are you a Roman Catholic?" Kevin asks.

'I know of the Catholic Church, it's bloody history, The Crusades all which failed, The Spanish Inquisition and The Massacre of St Bartholomew Day." Karissa explains.

"Just as I know how other Christians persecuted The Quakers, Roman Catholics, and how the Puritans killed innocent women, children, and men in the Salem witch-hunts." Karissa answers.

"I can assure you that Quakers are a peaceful people, and they just want to practice their beliefs." Karissa states.

Just as I know that the Catholic in New York City were causing no harm as they practiced their faith but the other Christian Protestants didn't like it." Karissa explains.

"Both The Quakers and Roman Catholics had to relocate to Pennsylvania and Maryland." Karissa tells him, ''But to answer your question, Kevin Riley, I am a Norse Pagan."

"I respect my ancestors, I don't bow my knee to any Abrahamic God, and I don't believe in sin or hell that was created by stupid men to frighten the people into submission." Karissa states.

"Sin is what you perceive it to be. There are no absolute morals." Karissa states.

"What is right and moral for one person may be different to another person." Karissa tells him.

"The Puritans frowned on dancing, singing, partying, and just believed in work and worship." Karissa states.

The Catholic Church insisted you attend Mass every day." Karissa states.

"The other churches say this and that, but The trees are my churches and the Forests are my cathedrals." Karissa tells him.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley listens to Karissa and she says, " You are entitled to your beliefs and I am entitled to mine."

"I don't judge anyone." Karissa tells him. " Tragedies that have befallen on you, have befallen on me too."

"I became a war orphan when my family died of radiation poisoning on Planet Earth and the people who were taking care of me could no longer feed me and boarded me on the USS Republic for the United Federation of Planet relocation program." Karissa explains.

Finally, when the USS Republic orbits around Star Base 12 and they board the shuttle crafts that are provided to take them to Star Base 12 it is Kevin Thomas Riley who presents Karissa to Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR who was at that time Duke of Norfolk Territory and Lord Richard William Carey.

Standing by his father's side is Lord Andrew Charles Howard, he notices Karissa standing with Kevin Thomas Riley, but Karissa takes no interest in Lord Andrew Charles Howard.

Lord Andrew Charles Howard takes an interest in Karissa from day one, and he starts to pursue her and she calls him "Piccolo, A busy body, and a pest."

This doesn't stop him from pursuing her until he gets her and she agrees to give in to him, but he is in for a big surprise.

"When Karissa tells him that the only way that she will marry him is when they have a daughter, that day doesn't come until June 21, 2276, as their first child was a son, Lord Edward Andrew Howard born to them in May of 2275

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley has never forgiven Lord Andrew Charles for stealing Karissa away from him and he has a long memory.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley has known Lord Andrew Charles Howard since he attended Star-Fleet Academy.

They were once good friends until Karissa entered into the picture and then they became sworn enemies.

Lord Andrew Charles sees every man a rival and he will do whatever it takes to get rid of them.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley knows with Karissa's help he became the Duke of Norfolk Territory, but he doesn't realize that she is also his downfall.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley reminisces about Karissa and when they first met aboard the USS Republic and how he would never forget her.

Karissa told him, ''I am sorry Kevin, but you have chosen a career with Star Fleet and I have no desire to marry a Space Cadet."

Later on after Kevin Thomas Riley finished his internship on board the USS Enterprise and he decides to live on Star Base 12 in the territory of Gloucester he meets Lady Isabella Collins, and they marry in 2279, and in 2281 they have a son, Kevin Thomas Riley II and he meets Lady Caroline Matilda Carey who is the daughter of Lord Richard William Carey and Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard and she was born in 2282 and Kevin Thomas Riley II and Lady Caroline Matilda marry in 2300 and the two families come to see their children marry.

Kevin Thomas Riley and Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard nee Lowell become related through their two children, and through the great-great grandson of Kevin Riley and Lady Isabella marries Lady Karissa's great-great-granddaughter, Lady Karissa Elizabeth Howard who is the daughter of Lady Victoria Elizabeth Howard and Lord Andrew Charles Howard IV.

Kevin Thomas Riley V is bestowed the title of Duke of Southampton Territory by Lady Victoria Elizabeth Howard, 4th Duchess of Norfolk Territory.

Kevin Thomas Riley tells his wife, Lady Josephine "Well, now I have a part of Lady Karissa with me forever. Our son married her daughter, Lady Caroline Matilda, "

"Lady Isabella. I love you and you are my wife and we have two children together." Kevin tells her.

"I have always known that even when we married that you would never stop loving Lady Karissa and I have just learned to accept it." Lady Isabella tells him.

On the day that Kevin Thomas Riley marries Lady Caroline Matilda in 2300, Kevin Thomas Riley arrives out at Beltane Manor with his wife, Lady Isabella and their daughter, Lady Isabella Charlotte and he sees Lady Karissa who has divorced Lord Andrew Charles and he walks to her, " My son and your daughter have brought us back together."

"Kevin, I am divorced from Lord Andrew Charles and Lord Richard William Carey and I am going to be married shortly after Lady Caroline Matilda and Kevin Riley II." Lady Karissa tells him.

Lord Richard William Carey walks over and he smiles and Kevin says " I am glad you are going to marry Lady Karissa."

"My friend, Kevin Riley, We have known each other for some time. I told myself I would bring Lord Andrew Charles down, but I had to wait until Lady Samhain and her siblings were grown, but be not deceived, Lady Samhain, Lord Edward Andrew and Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane love their father." Lord Richard William explains.

''Just as Lady Caroline Matilda and Lord Benjamin Lawrence love me." Lord Richard William explains.

"Lady Samhain may appear sweet and gentle, but she is a Howard and she knows where her allegiance lies." Lord Richard William explains.

"As does Lady Caroline Matilda as her great-great-grandfather is Lord Frederick William as my great-grandmother was Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard." Lord Richard William explains.

"The one thing about the Howard's they are very united." Lord Richard William explains.

"Our grandchildren will be the great-great-great-grandchildren of Lord Frederick William Howard." Lord Richard William explains.

"When did you divorce Lord Andrew Charles?" Kevin asks Karissa.

"I just divorced him in 2299, but it doesn't mean that I have stopped loving him and with him we had five wonderful children." Lady Karissa explains, "Just as I have two wonderful children with Lord Richard William Carey and one with Lord Charles Andrew Howard III."

Lady Karissa calls her youngest daughter, Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann over to her side and says, "This is my littlest angel, Lady Karissa Elizabeth Ann Howard and she is the Duchess of Sussex Territory."

"What a beautiful child, Karissa?" Kevin Thomas Riley,'"but all of your children are beautiful."

"Thank you Kevin. I am proud of all of them and Lady Sophia is Duchess of Gloucester ." Lady Karissa states," Lord Benjamin Lawrence is Duke of Langley, Lord Albert is Duke of Kent."

"Lady Samhain married Lord David William Beck, but she has retained her maiden name and her female descendants will inherit the Dukedom of Clarence. They have given her the name of Lady Samhain, The Good Duchess of Clarence Territory." Lady Karissa says.

"I am afraid Lord Edward Andrew hasn't married yet, but I am fine with it." Lady Karissa states.

"Lady Joan Isabella Margaret is engaged to Lord Roger Mortimer, but she won't marry until next year." Lady Karissa tells Kevin.

"The rest of my children are too young to marry as Lord Benjamin Lawrence was born in 2289, Lady Karissa was born in 2295." Lady Karissa tells him.

"I have a daughter, Lady Isabella Charlotte." Kevin tells her, "She is the apple of my eye."

Kevin Thomas Riley looks back and he reminisces about when he met Karissa on board the USS Republic and he smiles at the thought that their two families have finally come together.

Kevin Thomas Riley passes away in 2335, five years after Lady Karissa passes away, but his family continues with the help of her daughter and great-great-daughter.

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley receives a military burial from The United Federation of Planets and Star Fleet Command and he is laid to rest out at Collinswood where Lady Isabella Collin's family have their mausoleum.
